HOT OFF THE PRESS: “STRIKE A POSE: HOW TO MAKE THE CAMERA LOVE YOU” DVD IS SET FOR RELEASE JUNE 2013 Her Majesty’s much-anticipated instructional photo- posing DVD is just getting the finishing touches added on and will be available in late June! Based on her informative workshops, which have sold out worldwide, the “Strike A Pose” DVD gives you the tools for looking amazing in front of the camera. From headshots to full body poses, you’ll learn tips and tricks to achieve beautiful bodylines and interesting angles highlight your assets and hide your flaws. You’ll discover how to analyze the ingredients that make a memorable dance or glamour photograph, and find out how to relax and feel confident in front of the camera, maximizing your best facial features and projecting vibrant emotions. The DVD was shot by director Steve Balderson, and all photos were done on-set by dance photographer extraordinaire Maharet Bryant. Conceived in the summer of 2012, some time between Cairo Caravan and The Las Vegas Belly Dance Convention, the track is an eclectic ethno soundscape…basically a love letter to their favorite city: Cairo, Egypt. Princess Farhana wrote and performed the spoken word portion of the piece, and Karim Nagi played drums and provided backing vocals, samples and studio mixing magic…you really have to hear it to believe it! “Heart Full Of Cairo” can be downloaded on iTunes or www.amazon.com “THE BELLY DANCE HANDBOOK” COMING SOON! Based upon her twenty-plus years of on-the-job experience, Princess Farhana’s “The Belly Dance Handbook” is a lifestyle companion for The Thinking Belly Dancer. From “baby bellies” to seasoned professionals, there is something here for dancers of every level…and lots of gorgeous photos and illustrations as well. Full of the signature Royal Wit, the book is written in an easy tone, but addresses everything from costuming to selecting props, community building, how to turn professional, dealing with injuries, stage make up, and even safe travel in the Middle East and North Africa. Plus, dance legend Artemis Mourat wrote the foreward! The book is in the process of being laid out now and will be available (in’shallah!) by the middle of summer, 2013. As if “The Belly Dance Handbook” wasn’t enough, Princess Farhana also has another book coming out- this time under her given name, Pleasant Gehman. “Showgirl Confidential: My Life Onstage, Backstage And On The Road” will soon be published by the Los Angeles-based Punk Hostage Press, run by lifetime collaborator and partner-in-crime, writer Iris Berry. “Showgirl Confidential” is a collection of short stories-all almost unbelievable, but all true, gathered from her thirty-five years spent on the road. The stories span adventures with her all-girl punk rock band touring the USA in the 1980’s, to zany incidents that occurred in Egypt; from wild nights at burlesque gigs to jaw-dropping occurrences that happened at variously location film shoots. Expect the book to be published in August or September of 2013. THE ROYAL TOURING SCHEDULE 2013… NEW DATES ADDED! Her Royal Highness has just returned from workshops and performances in the UK, Australia and Hawaii, but isn’t showing any signs of slowing down: She will be making a special guest appearance on the opening night of the Rakkas Istanbul Oriental Festival in Turkey, April 29, 2013!
