Belle, Book & Candle is a unique monthly event run by and for witches…in a haunted venue.
Featuring occult-inspired burlesque performances plus gifted professional psychics, Belle, Book And Candle takes place on the third (witchy) Wednesday of each month at the historic El Cid Theater.
Producers Pleasant "Princess Farhana" Gehman and Shana Leilani are both professional dancers…as well as professional witches. The show takes its name from the popular 1958 film Bell, Book And Candle, starring Kim Novak as a beatnik sorceress in Greenwich Village.
Every evening features an onstage ritual lead by a prominent local magickal practitioner, as well as a raffle with prizes provided by Los Angeles occult shops. Internationally known burlesque dancers perform two separate shows full of dark witchy glamour, sinister fairy tales and supernatural fantasies. The professional psychics are handpicked by Gehman and Leilani for their accuracy, and will amaze and delight the crowds.
Deejay Lina Lecaro weaves a musical spell conjuring up everything from The Cramps to Stevie Nicks and beyond, while darkly sexy go-go dancers of every gender cast a pre-show spell over the audience.
